I have noticed that hunters often overlook some of the best spots, because they are to close to the gate, or a check in station, or even a parking area.... So next time you get a chance, spend a little time looking around these types of places. Deer soon learn that hunters pass them by, while they sit and watch the activity from a safe haven close to the jumping off point!

So true Cliff! I live on 5,300 acres of public hunting land and thats the only place I hunt and I can not count the times I along with other people going to a stand walk right pass and deer bedded down 5 yds off the path and 25yds for parking lot, deer will never move, then we will come in with dogs and jump it , we would have never know it was there. We spend alot of time running in the thick stuff and marshes and may not jump but go to put dogs back in truck and they will jump right off road.
